About the practice:

Unity Surgery is a small GP practice of 4100 patients set within an urban area of Nottingham. There are 5 GPs, 1 nurse, 1 healthcare assistant and 8 administrative staff. They are all part-time and have to be flexible in order to manage the Practice and provide cover. The practice have a mixed demographic with traditionally higher numbers of older people, but young families are increasing with new build housing in the area. Unity Surgery have excellent access, see patients face to face and provide supportive care to all our patients. They are a ‘family practice’ and see their patients as ‘family’.

Friendly and supportive Practice seeking an Assistant Practice Manager to lead a team of loyal and dedicated staff.

SystmOne Practice with 4100 patients

GPs supported by efficient and enthusiastic staff team

Consistently high QOF achievement

Suggested hours: part time. Hours will be negotiable (likely to be between 14 and 20 hours a week) in order to attract the right person and meet the practice needs.

The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated, innovative person with excellent organisational skills and proven ability in IT. They will be willing to learn other aspects of General Practice. The ideal candidate will also have the vision, willingness and drive to adapt to constant changes in the Health Service. Previous experience of management in General Practice is desirable, but NOT essential. Pre-arranged informal visits encouraged.

Main duties:

Data collection and analysis

Responding to numerous requests for information from outside bodies such as the PCN, CCG and NHSE

Making financial claims Planning activities and rotas within the Practice

Responding to complaints and significant events

Dealing with day to day issues within the Practice

Staff management

Health and Safety oversight

Organising meetings, minute taking etc
